That being said, the cupboard is not bare. There is still plenty of talent for coach David Martinez to work with. The Eagles should be strong in the backcourt and have plenty of depth with returning senior guards Angel Johnson, A. Aungst, Connor Miller and David Martinez. Randolph 6-foot-6 and Kaleb Pouncy 6-foot-7 will provide plenty of size in the frontcourt.
The Bulldogs came up short against the Eagles three times last season, including a heartbreaking loss in the fifth round of the playoffs.

The team reached the third round of the playoffs last season before falling to Goose Creek Memorial in overtime. Other 5A teams to watch: No. The Lions are coming off a campaign that saw them score plus points seven times. The team ultimately met its match against one of the other perennial powers in the second round of the playoffs, falling against Silsbee.
The Lions have not lost a district game since and should be the heavy favorites to repeat as A champions under coach Greg Wise. Other 4A teams to watch: No. The Warriors have been the most decorated program in the Houston area in recent years, capturing three titles over the past four seasons under head coach Tanner Field. TWCA entered this season as the No. The team returns two mainstays of the program with guard Austin Benigni -- the reigning All-Greater Houston private school player of the year -- and defensive stalwart Chanse Perkins.
